It then explained the fitness workout (twice-a-week, graded exercise) specially designed to strengthen their muscles by the Ariake Regional Rehabilitation Support Center, and reported implementation and results of such regional rehabilitation program.\n The practical keys to the muscle-strengthening exercise were found as follows. 1)Two sessions is enough for weekly exercise, and the rest of the week should be for resting. For fear of an adverse effect of hurting the muscle fibers, too much exercise must be strictly prohibited. 2)The exercise load with suitable stimulation should be escalating in a moderate manner (graded exercise). 3)The workout program needs a clearly set target with appropriate evaluation. 4)The fitness session should start with the larger (trunk) muscle training, and proceed to the smaller (peripheral) muscle exercise. 5)Conscious efforts should be made on not only contracting but also relaxing the muscles. 6)It is necessary to ensure exhalation at muscle contraction to regulate BP elevation. 7)It takes over three months until the positive effects emerge.
