However, the demand for university places is predicted to match the supply by 2009 due to the aging of society and falling birth rate. Nursing education in Japan has been influenced by the trends of studies by scholars in education and particularly by the “Tyler Theory,” which has been mainly used in the U.S. Nursing education has therefore been based on a curriculum that focuses on behavioral objectives, and the individual characteristics of schools have disappeared. By the end of the Twentieth Century, the emergence of researchers such as Noddings and Donald shifted education studies the “caring” and the “The Reflective Practitioner.
